1 Timothy Chapter 4 - | Early Church Bible

1: But the [G3588][G1161] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] expressly [G4490] says [G3004], that [G3754] in [G1722] later [G5306] times [G2540] some will leave [G5100] from the [G3588] trust '[G4102], taking heed [G4337] to blowing airs (ghosts) '[G4151] of delusion [G4106] and [G2532] instructions [G1319] of demons [G1140];
2: in [G1722] stage-acting [G5272] of lying words [G5573], being seared [G2743] their own the [G3588][G2398] conscience [G4893],
3: restraining [G2967] to marry [G1060], to be at a distance from foods [G1033] which [G3739] the [G3588] God '[G2316] created [G2936] for [G1519] participation [G3336] with [G3326] thankfulness [G2169] to the [G3588] [ones] trustworthy [G4103] and [G2532] recognizing [G1921] the [G3588] truth .
4: For [G3754] every [G3956] creation [G2938] of God '[G2316] [is] good [G2570], and [G2532] nothing [G3762] to be spurned , with [G3326] thankfulness [G2169] being received [G2983].
5: For it is sanctified [G1063] through [G1223] word [G3056] of God '[G2316], and [G2532] intercession [G1783].
6: [In] placing these [things] before [G3778][G5294] the [G3588] brothers , you will be a good [G2570] servant [G1249] of Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) Anointed [G5547], being nourished up with [G1789] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] trust '[G4102], and [G2532] the [G3588] good [G2570] instruction [G1319] which [G3739] you have followed closely [G3877].
7: But the [G3588][G1161] profane and [G2532] old wives [G1126] legends (stories, myths) [G3454] refuse [G3868]! But exercise [G1128][G1161] yourself [G4572] to [G4314] piety [G2150]!
8: For the [G3588][G1063] bodily [G4984] exercise [G1129] for [G4314] a little [G3641] is beneficial [G5624], the [G3588] but [G1161] piety [G2150] for [G4314] all [things] [G3956] is beneficial [G5624], promise [G1860] having [G2192] of life [G2222] -- of the [G3588] present [G3568], and [G2532] of the [G3588] [one] being about [to be [G3195].
9: Trustworthy [G4103] [is] the [G3588] word [G3056], and [G2532] of all [G3956] acceptance worthy .
10: in [G1519] this [G3778] for [G1063] also [G2532] we tire in labor [G2872], and [G2532] are berated [G3679], because [G3754] we have hope [G1679] upon [G1909] a living God '[G2316][G2198], who [G3739] is deliverer [G4990] of all [G3956] men , especially [G3122] ones believing [G4103].
11: Exhort [G3853] these [things] [G3778] and [G2532] teach [G1321]!
12: no one [G3367] your [G1473] the [G3588] youth [G3503] Let disdain [G2706]! but a model [G5179] become [G1096] for the [G3588] [ones] believing [G4103] -- in [G1722] word [G3056], in [G1722] behavior , in [G1722] love , in [G1722] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151], in [G1722] trust '[G4102], in [G1722] purity .
13: Until [G2193] I come [G2064] take heed [G4337] to the [G3588] reading , to the [G3588] consolation [G3874], to the [G3588] instruction [G1319]!
14: Do not [G3361] neglect the [G3588] in [G1722] you [G1473] favor [G5486]! which [G3739] was given [G1325] to you [G1473] through [G1223] prophecy [G4394], with [G3326] laying on [G1936] of the [G3588] hands [G5495] of the [G3588] council of elders [G4244].
15: These [things] [G3778] meditate upon [G3191]! in [G1722] these [things] [G3778] Be , that [G2443] your [G1473] the [G3588] progression [G4297] should be apparent [G5318] to [G1722] all [G3956]!
16: Give heed [G1907] to yourself [G4572], and [G2532] to the [G3588] instruction [G1319]! Remain [G1961] in them [G1473]! For this [G3778][G1063] doing [G4160] both [G2532] yourself [G4572] you will deliver [G4982] and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] hearing you [G1473].
