Numbers Chapter 21 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] heard the [G3588] Canaanite king Arad], the [G3588] [one] dwelling [G2730] by [G2596] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], that [G3754] Israel came [G2064] [by the] way [G3598] to Atharin; and [G2532] he waged war [G4170] against [G4314] Israel, and [G2532] they carried away captive some of [G1537] them [G1473] [into] captivity .
2: And [G2532] Israel vowed [G2172] a vow [G2171] [to the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036], If [G1437] you should deliver up to me [G1473][G3860] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] under my hand , I will devote him to consumption [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his cities [G4172][G1473].
3: And [G2532] BOSS listened to [G1522][G2962] the [G3588] voice [G5456] of Israel, and [G2532] he delivered up [G3860] the [G3588] Canaanite unto his hand [G1473], and [G2532] he devoted him to consumption [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his cities [G4172][G1473]. And [G2532] they called [G1941] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] that place [G5117][G1565], Anathema .
4: And [G2532] departing from [G1537] Hor the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735], by way [G3598] unto [G1909] sea [G2281] red [G2063], they encircled [G4033] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Edom, and [G2532] became faint-hearted the [G3588] people [G2992] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598].
5: And [G2532] spoke ill [G2635] the [G3588] people [G2992] against [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] against [G2596] Moses, saying [G3004], Why did [G2444] you lead [G1806] us [G1473] out of [G1537] Egypt to kill us [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048]? For [G3754] there is no [G3756] bread nor [G3761] water [G5204]; the [G3588] and [G1161] our soul [G5590][G1473] loathes [G4360] in [G1722] the [G3588] bread the [G3588] this empty [G3778].
6: And [G2532] BOSS sent [G2962] to [G1519] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] serpents [G3789], the [G3588] [ones] causing death [G2289]; and [G2532] they bit [G1143] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] died people [G2992] many [G4183] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel.
7: And [G2532] came [G3854] the [G3588] people [G2992] to [G4314] Moses, saying [G3004] that [G3754], We sinned , for [G3754] we spoke ill [G2635] against [G2596] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] against [G2596] you [G1473]; make a vow [G2172] then [G3767] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] that [G2532] he remove from us [G1473] the [G3588] serpent [G3789]! And [G2532] Moses made a vow [G2172] for [G4012] the [G3588] people [G2992].
8: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Moses, Make [G4160] to yourself [G4572] a serpent [G3789] of brass [G5470], and [G2532] put [G5087] it [G1473] upon [G1909] a sign [G4592]. And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] having been bitten [G1143], looking [at] [G1492] it [G1473], will live [G2198].
9: And [G2532] Moses made [G4160] a serpent [G3789] of brass [G5470], and [G2532] set [G2476] it [G1473] upon [G1909] a sign [G4592]. And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] whenever [G3752] bit [G1143] a serpent [G3789] a man , and [G2532] he looked [G1914] upon [G1909] the [G3588] serpent [G3789] of the [G3588] brass [G5470], that [G2532] he lived [G2198].
10: And [G2532] departed the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel], and [G2532] they camped in [G1722] Oboth.
11: And [G2532] lifting away [G1808] from [G1537] Oboth, they camped in [G1722] Ije-abarim in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], which [G3739] is against [G2596] face [G4383] of Moab according to [G2596] east of sun [G2246].
12: From there [G1564] they departed and [G2532] camped at [G1519] Ravine [G5327] of Zared.
13: From there [G1564] departing they camped in [G1519] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of Arnon, in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048] the [G3588] protruding from the [G3588] borders [G3725] of the [G3588] Amorites. is For [G1063] Arnon] boundary [G3725] of Moab between Moab and [G2532] the [G3588] Amorite.
14: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] it says [G3004] in [G1722] scroll war [G4171] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] Zoob set ablaze [G5394], and [G2532] the [G3588] rushing streams [G5493] of Arnon.
15: And [G2532] the [G3588] rushing streams [G5493] he established [G2525] to settle Ar, and [G2532] it lies near to the [G3588] boundaries [G3725] of Moab.
16: And [G2532] from there [they came to [G1564] the [G3588] Well [G5421]. This is [G3778] the [G3588] well [G5421] which [G3739] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Moses, Gather together [G4863] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] I will give [G1325] to them [G1473] water [G5204].
17: Then [G5119] Israel sang the [G3588] this song [G3778] at [G1909] the [G3588] Well [G5421], Take the lead to him [G1473], O Well [G5421];
18: dug [G3736] it [G1473] rulers ; quarried [G1473] kings of tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir kingdoms [G1473], in [G1722] the [G3588]ir dominating [G2961][G1473]. And [G2532] from Well [G5421] [they went] unto [G1519] Mattanah.
19: And [G2532] from Mattanah to [G1519] Nahaliel. And [G2532] from Nahaliel to [G1519] Bamoth. And [G2532] from Bamoth to [G1519] Janen which [G3739] is in [G1722] the [G3588] plain of Moab, [seen] from top of the [G3588] dressing of the stone -- the [place] the [G3588] looking down at [G2596] face [G4383] of the [G3588] wilderness [G2048].
20: And [G2532] Israel sent ambassadors to [G4314] Sihon king of Amorites, saying [G3004],
21: We will go [G3928] through [G1223] the [G3588] your land '[G1093][G1473]; we will not turn aside [G3756][G1578], neither [G3777] into [G1519] a field , nor [G3777] into [G1519] a vineyard ;
22: nor [G3777] will we drink [G4095] water [G5204] from out of [G1537] your well [G5421][G1473]. way [G3598] royal We will go by [G4198], until [G2193] whenever we pass by [G3928] the [G3588] your borders [G3725][G1473].
23: And [G2532] did not [G3756] give [permission [G1325] Sihon] [to the [G3588] Israel to go [G3928] through [G1223] the [G3588] his borders [G3725][G1473]. And [G2532] Sihon gathered together [G4863] all [G3956] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473], and [G2532] came forth [G1831] to deploy [against the [G3588] Israel in [G1519] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048]. And [G2532] he came [G2064] unto [G1519] Jahaz, and [G2532] deployed [against the [G3588] Israel.
24: And [G2532] struck [G3960] him [G1473] Israel] with [G1722] a carnage [G5408] of sword [G3162]; and [G2532] they dominated [G2634] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473] from Arnon unto [G2193] Jabbok, unto [G2193] sons [G5207] of Ammon. For [G3754] Jazer boundaries [G3725] of sons [G5207] of Ammon is .
25: And [G2532] Israel took [G2983] all [G3956] the [G3588]se cities [G4172][G3778], and [G2532] Israel dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Amorites, in [G1722] Heshbon, and [G2532] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [ones] the [G3588] falling in with it [G1473].
26: is For [G1063] Heshbon] city [G4172] of Sihon the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Amorites. And [G2532] this one [G3778] waged war against [G4170] king of Moab for the [G3588]merly [G4387]. And [G2532] [they] took [G2983] all [G3956] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473] from his hand [G5495][G1473] unto [G2193] Arnon.
27: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] say [G2046] the [G3588] [ones] speaking enigmas , Come [G2064] into [G1519] Heshbon, for [G2443] should have been built [G3618] and [G2532] should have been carefully prepared [G2680] city [G4172] of Sihon];
28: for [G3754] fire [G4442] came forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] Heshbon, a flame [G5395] from out of [G1537] city [G4172] of Sihon, and [G2532] it devoured [G2719] unto [G2193] Moab, and [G2532] swallowed down [G2666] monuments of Arnon.
29: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] Moab. You are destroyed people [G2992] of Chemosh. were rendered over the [G3588]ir sons [G5207][G1473] to be preserved [G1295], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir daughters [G2364][G1473] captives to the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Amorites -- Sihon.
30: And [G2532] the [G3588]ir seed [G4690][G1473] will perish -- Heshbon unto [G2193] Dibon. And [G2532] the [G3588]ir women [G1135][G1473] still [G2089] burn a fire [G4442] over [G1909] Moab.
31: And [G2532] Israel dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Amorites.
32: And [G2532] Moses sent to survey the [G3588] Jaazer, and [G2532] they overtook [G2638] it [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] they cast out [G1544] the [G3588] Amorite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] there [G1563].
33: And [G2532] having turned [G1994] they went up way [G3598] the [G3588] unto [G1519] Bashan. And [G2532] came forth [G1831] Og king of the [G3588] Bashan to [G1519] meet with [G4877] them [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473] for [G1519] war [G4171] in [G1519] Edrei.
34: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Moses, Do not [G3361] fear [G5399] him [G1473], for [G3754] into [G1519] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473] I have delivered [G3860] him [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473]; and [G2532] you will do [G4160] to him [G1473] as [G2531] you did [G4160] the [G3588] to Sihon king of the [G3588] Amorites, who [G3739] dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] Heshbon.
35: And [G2532] he struck [G3960] him [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473], until [G2193] there was the [G3588] not [any [G3361] of his being left behind [G2641][G1473] for taking alive ; and [G2532] they inherited [G2816] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473].
