Nehemiah Chapter 4 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G2259] Sanballat heard that [G3754] we [G1473] were building [G3618] the [G3588] wall [G5038], that [G2532] it was evil [G4190] to him [G1473], and [G2532] he was angry [G3710] very much [G1909][G4183], and [G2532] he was laughing out loud over [G1909] the [G3588] Jews.
2: And [G2532] he spoke [G2036] before [G1799] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473], and [G2532] for the [G3588]ce [G1411] of Samaritans, and [G2532] he said [G2036], What [G5100] the [G3588] [do] these Judahmen [G3778] do [G4160] -- the [G3588] Jews? will we not abandon [G2756][G2641] them [G1473]? Is it to sacrifice ? Is it that they will be able to [G1410]? And [G2532] today [G4594], will they repair [G2390] the [G3588] stones [G3037] with [G3326] the [G3588] embankment [rubbish for being [G1096] burnt [G2545]?
3: And [G2532] Tobiah the [G3588] Ammonite [was] next to [G2192] him [G1473], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1438], And even if [G3532][G1065] they [G1473] will build [G3618], will not [G3780] go up a fox and [G2532] demolish [G2507] the [G3588] wall [G5038] of stones [G3037] their [G1473]?
4: Hear , O the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473]! for [G3754] we became [G1096] for [G1519] sneering . And [G2532] return [G1994] their scorning [G3680][G1473] upon [G1519] their head [G2776][G1473], and [G2532] give [G1325] them [G1473] for [G1519] sneering in [G1722] a land '[G1093] of captivity !
5: And [G2532] you should not cover [G3361][G2572] over [G1909] their lawlessness [G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588]ir sin [G1473] -- from [G1537] face [G4383] of you [G1473] may it not be wiped away [G3361][G1813]. For [G3754] they provoked [you] to anger [G3949] before [G1726] the [G3588] [ones] building [G3618].
6: And [G2532] we built [G3618] the [G3588] wall [G5038], and [G2532] was joined together all [G3956] the [G3588] wall [G5038] unto [G2193] the [G3588] half [G2255] of it [G1473]. And [G2532] became [G1096] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of the [G3588] people [G2992] so as [G5620] to construct [G3618].
7: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] Sanballat heard , (and [G2532] Tobiah, and [G2532] the [G3588] Arabians, and [G2532] the [G3588] Ammonites, and [G2532] the [G3588] Ashdodites, that [G3754] went up the [G3588] development of the [G3588] walls [G5038] of Jerusalem],) that [G3754] they began the [G3588] gaps to block up , that [G2532] wicked [G4190] to them [G1473] it appeared [G5316] exceedingly [G4970].
8: And [G2532] they gathered [G4863] all [G3956] together [G1909] the [G3588][G1473] to come [G2064] and [G2532] to deploy against [G1722] Jerusalem, and [G2532] to do [G4160] it [G1473] for a delusion .
9: And [G2532] we prayed [G4336] to [G4314] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], and [G2532] we set [G2476] an advance guard against [G1909] them [G1473] day [G2250] and [G2532] night [G3571], in front [G4383] of them [G1473].
10: And [G2532] Judah said [G2036], is broken [G4937] the [G3588] strength [G2479] of the [G3588] enemies [G2190], and [G2532] the [G3588] dirt [G5522] [is] vast [G4183], and [G2532] we [G1473] will not [G3756] be able [G1410] to build [G3618] on [G1722] the [G3588] wall [G5038].
11: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] [ones] afflicting [G2346] us [G1473], They will not know [G3756][G1097], and [G2532] they will not see [G3756][G3708] until [G2193] whenever [G3748] we should come [G2064] into [G1519] midst [G3319] of them [G1473], and [G2532] should murder [G5407] them [G1473], and [G2532] should cause to cease [G2664] the [G3588] work [G2041].
12: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] came [G2064] the [G3588] Jews the [G3588] living [G3611] next to [G2192] them [G1473], that [G2532] they said [G2036] to us [G1473], They go up from out of [G1537] all [G3956] the [G3588] places [G5117] that [G3754] you returned [G1994] from [G1909] us [G1473].
13: And [G2532] I stood [men [G2476] in [G1519] the [G3588] lowermost [G2737] the [G3588] place [G5117] from behind the [G3588] wall [G5038], in [G1722] the [G3588] protected [places . And [G2532] I stood [G2476] the [G3588] people [G2992] according to [G2596] peoples [G1218], with [G3326] their broadswords [G4501][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir wooden spears [G1473], and [G2532] their bows [G5115][G1473].
14: And [G2532] I looked [at] [G1492], and [G2532] I rose up , and [G2532] I spoke [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] important ones [G1784], and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] commandants [G4755], and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] people, [saying [G2992], You should not [G3361] fear [G5399] from their face [G4383][G1473]. You should remember [G3403] the [G3588] God '[G2316] our [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173] and [G2532] fearful [G5398], and [G2532] deploy for [G4012] the [G3588] your brothers [G1473], your sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] your daughters [G2364][G1473], and [G2532] your wives [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] your residences [G3614][G1473]!
15: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G2259] heard the [G3588] our enemies [G2190][G1473] that [G3754] it was made known [G1097] to us [G1473], that [G2532] effaced the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588]ir counsel [G1012][G1473], that [G2532] returned [G1994] we all [G3956][G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] wall [G5038], [every] man to [G1519] the [G3588] his work [G2041][G1473].
16: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] from the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], [that] half [G2255] of the [G3588] [ones] being arrayed did [G4160] the [G3588] work [G2041], and [G2532] half [G2255] of them [G1473] resisted [with [G2532] lances [G3057], and [G2532] shields [G2375], and [G2532] bows [G5115], and [G2532] chest [plates [G2382]; and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers [were] behind [G3694] whole [G3956] house [G3624] of Judah.
17: the [ones] [G3588] building [G3618] on [G1722] the [G3588] wall [G5038], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] lifting [things] on [G1722] their the [G3588] shoulders , armed in [G1722] one [G1520] hand [G5495] did [G4160] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] work [G2041], and [G2532] with [G1722] one [hand] [G1520] held [G2902] the [G3588] arrow [G1002].
18: And [G2532] the [G3588] builders -- a man [had] his broadsword [G4501][G1473] tied [G2224] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his loin [G3751][G1473], and [G2532] they built [G3618]. And [G2532] the [G3588] [one] trumpeting [G4537] by [G1722] the [G3588] horn was next [G2192] to me [G1473].
19: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] important ones [G1784], and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] rulers , and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] people [G2992], the [G3588] work [G2041] [is] spacious [G4116] and [G2532] vast [G4183], and [G2532] we [G1473] are dispersed [G4650] upon [G1909] the [G3588] wall [G5038], far [G3112] [with each] man from the [G3588] brother of him [G1473].
20: In [G1722] place [G5117] where [G3739] ever you should hear the [G3588] sound [G5456] of the [G3588] horn , gather together there [G1563][G4863] to [G4314] us [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] will wage war [G4170] for [G4012] us [G1473].
21: And [G2532] we [G1473] were doing [G4160] the [G3588] work [G2041], and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] of us [G1473] were holding [G2902] the [G3588] lances [G3057] from ascending of the [G3588] dawn [G3722] until [G2193] coming out [G1841] of the [G3588] stars .
22: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1473] I said [G2036] to the [G3588] people [G2992], Each one [G1538] with [G3326] the [G3588] his young one [G3495][G1473] will lodge in [G1722] midst [G3319] of Jerusalem, and [G2532] let be to us [G1473] in the [G3588] night [G3571] an advance guard , and [let [G2532] the [G3588] day [G2250] [be for] work [G2041]!
23: And [G2532] I was [there [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my brothers , and [G2532] the [G3588] young men [G3808], and [G2532] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] advance guard [were] behind [G3694] me [G1473]; and [G2532] there was not [G3756] of [G1537] us [G1473] being stripped a man the [G3588] of his own garments [G2440][G1438]; a man and [G2532] his weapons [G3696][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] water [G5204].
