Matthew Chapter 27 - | Early Church Bible

1: And the morning [G4405][G1161] having become [G1096], council [G4824] took [G2983] all [G3956] the [G3588] chief priests , and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of the [G3588] people [G2992] against [G2596] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), so as [G5620] to put him to death [G2289][G1473].
2: And [G2532] having bound [G1210] him [G1473], they took and [G2532] delivered him up [G3860][G1473] to Pontius Pilate, to the [G3588] governor [G2232].
3: Then [G5119] looking [at] [G1492] Judas the [G3588] [one] delivering him up [G3860][G1473], that [G3754] he was condemned [G2632], changed his mind [G3338] [so as] to return the [G3588] thirty [G5144] silver [pieces to the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] to the [G3588] elders [G4245],
4: saying [G3004], I sinned , having delivered up [G3860] blood innocent . But they the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], What [is that [G5100] to [G4314] us [G1473]? You [G1473] will see [to that [G3708].
5: And [G2532] having tossed [G4495] the [G3588] silver [pieces in [G1722] the [G3588] temple [G3485], he withdrew . And [G2532] having gone forth he hung himself .
6: But the [G3588][G1161] chief priests having taken [G2983] the [G3588] silver pieces , said [G2036], It is not allowed [G3756][G1832] to throw them [G1473] into [G1519] of the [G3588]fering [G2878] when [G1893] value [G5092] for blood it is .
7: council [G4824] And [G1161] taking [G2983], they bought with [G1537] them [G1473] the [G3588] field of the [G3588] potter [G2763] for [G1519] a burial [ground [G5027] for the [G3588] strangers [G3581].
8: Therefore [G1352] is called [G2564] the [G3588] that field [G1565], Field of blood , until [G2193] the [G3588] today [G4594].
9: Then [G5119] was fulfilled [G4137] the [thing] [G3588] having been spoken [G4483] through [G1223] Jeremiah the [G3588] prophet [G4396], saying [G3004], And [G2532] I took [G2983] the [G3588] thirty [G5144] silver [pieces , the [G3588] value [G5092] of the [G3588] [one] being valued [G5091], the one who [G3739] was valued [G5091] by sons [G5207] of Israel.
10: And [G2532] they gave [G1325] them [G1473] for [G1519] the [G3588] field of the [G3588] potter [G2763] as [G2505] gave orders [G4929] to me [G1473] Boss '[G2962].
11: the [G3588] And [G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) stood [G2476] before [G1715] the [G3588] governor [G2232]. And [G2532] asked [G1905] him [G1473] the [G3588] governor [G2232], saying [G3004], Are you [G1473] the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Jews? the [G3588] And [G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) said [G5346] to him [G1473], You [G1473] say [it [G3004].
12: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] charging [G2723] him [G1473] by [G5259] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245], nothing [G3762] he answered .
13: Then [G5119] says [G3004] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Pilate], Do you not [G3756] hear how much [G4214] they witness against you [G1473][G2649]?
14: And [G2532] he did not [G3756] answer to him [G1473] to [G4314] not even [G3761] one [G1520] word [G4487]; so that [G5620] marveled [G2296] the [G3588] governor [G2232] exceedingly [G3029].
15: And according to [G2596][G1161] holiday [G1859] was accustomed [G1486] the [G3588] governor [G2232] to release one [G1520] to the [G3588] crowd [G3793] prisoner [G1198], whom [G3739] they wanted [G2309].
16: And they had [G2192][G1161] then [G5119] prisoner [G1198] a notorious [G1978] being called [G3004] Barabbas.
17: being gathered together [G4863] then [G3767] Of their [G1473], said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] Pilate], Whom [G5100] do you want [G2309] I release to you [G1473]? Barabbas or [G2228] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), the [G3588] [one] being called [G3004], Anointed "'[G5547].
18: For he knew [G1492][G1063] that [G3754] on account of [G1223] envy [G5355] they delivered him up [G3860][G1473].
19: sitting down [G2521] And [G1161] of of him '[G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] rostrum , sent to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473], saying [G3004], [Let there be] nothing [G3367] [between] you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] that just one [G1342][G1565]; much [G4183] for [G1063] I suffered [G3958] today [G4594] by [G2596] a dream [G3677] concerning [G1223] him [G1473].
20: But the [G3588][G1161] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] persuaded [G3982] the [G3588] crowds [G3793] that [G2443] they should ask for the [G3588] Barabbas, and the [G3588][G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) should perish .
21: And responding [G1161] the [G3588] governor [G2232] said [G2036] to them [G1473], Who [G5100] do you want [G2309] from the [G3588] two [G1417] I should release to you [G1473]? And they the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036], Barabbas.
22: says [G3004] to them [G1473] the [G3588] Pilate], What [G5100] then [G3767] will I do with [G4160] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) the [G3588] [one] being called [G3004] Anointed "'[G5547]? say [G3004] to him [G1473] all [G3956], Let [him] be crucified [G4717]!
23: And the [G3588][G1161] governor [G2232] said [G5346], For what [G5100][G1063] evil [G2556] did he do [G4160]? And they the [G3588][G1161] extremely more [G4057] cried out [G2896], saying [G3004], Let [him] be crucified [G4717]!
24: seeing [G1492] And [G1161] the [G3588] Pilate] that [G3754] in nothing [G3762] he derived benefit [G5623], but rather [G3123] a tumult [G2351] it became [G1096], having taken [G2983] water [G5204], he washed [his the [G3588] hands [G5495] before the [G3588] crowd [G3793], saying [G3004], I am innocent off the [G3588] blood of the [G3588] this just one [G1342][G3778]; you [G1473] will see to it [G3708].
25: And [G2532] responding all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] said [G2036], the [G3588] blood of him [G1473] [is] upon [G1909] us [G1473] and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] our children [G5043][G1473].
26: Then [G5119] he released to them [G1473] the [G3588] Barabbas. the [G3588] And [G1161] scourging Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) [G5417], he delivered him up [G3860] that [G2443] he should be crucified [G4717].
27: Then [G5119] the [G3588] soldiers [G4757] of the [G3588] governor [G2232], having taken with [them [G3880] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) to [G1519] the [G3588] praetorium [G4232], gathered [G4863] against [G1909] him [G1473] entire [G3650] the [G3588] cohort [G4686].
28: And [G2532] stripping [G1562] him [G1473], they put on [G4060] him [G1473] military cloak [G5511] a scarlet [G2847].
29: And [G2532] having plaited [G4120] a crown [G4735] of [G1537] thorns , they placed [it [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473], and [G2532] a reed [G2563] in [G1909] the [G3588] his right hand [G1188][G1473]. And [G2532] kneeling [G1120] before [G1715] him [G1473], they mocked [G1702] him [G1473], saying [G3004], Hail [G5463], the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Jews!
30: And [G2532] having spit [G1716] on [G1519] him [G1473], they took [G2983] the [G3588] reed [G2563], and [G2532] beat [G5180] upon [G1519] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473].
31: And [G2532] when [G3753] they mocked [G1702] him [G1473], they took off [G1562] him [G1473] the [G3588] military cloak [G5511], and [G2532] they put on [G1746] him [G1473] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473]; and [G2532] they took him [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] be crucified [G4717].
32: And going forth [G1831][G1161], they found [G2147] man a Cyrenaean], by name [G3686] Simon. This one [G3778] they conscripted that [G2443] he should bear the [G3588] his cross [G4716][G1473].
33: And [G2532] having come [G2064] unto [G1519] a place [G5117] being called [G3004] Golgotha, which [G3739] is being called [G3004], of the skull [G2898] place [G5117],
34: they gave [G1325] to him [G1473] to drink [G4095] vinegar [G3690], with [G3326] bile [G5521] being mixed [G3396]. And [G2532] having tasted [G1089], he did not [G3756] want [G2309] to drink [G4095].
35: And having crucified [G4717][G1161] him [G1473], they divided [G1266] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473], casting a lot [G2819]; that [G2443] should be fulfilled [G4137] the [thing] [G3588] having been spoken [G4483] by [G5259] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], They divided [G1266] the [G3588] my garments [G2440][G1473] among themselves [G1438], and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] my clothes [G2441][G1473] they cast a lot [G2819].
36: And [G2532] sitting down [G2521] they kept [G5083] him [G1473] there [G1563].
37: And [G2532] they placed [G2007] above [G1883] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473] the [G3588] his accusation [G1473] being written [G1125] -- This [G3778] is Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Jews.
38: Then [G5119] were crucified [G4717] with [G4862] him [G1473] two [G1417] robbers [G3027], one [G1520] at [G1537] [his] right [G1188] and [G2532] one [G1520] at [G1537] [his] left [G2176].
39: And the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] coming near [G3899] blasphemed him [G1473], shaking [G2795] the [G3588]ir heads [G2776][G1473],
40: and [G2532] saying [G3004], O one the [G3588] destroying [G2647] the [G3588] temple [G3485], and [G2532] in [G1722] three [G5140] days [G2250] rebuilding [it [G3618], deliver [G4982] yourself [G4572]! If [G1487] you are son [G5207] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], come down [G2597] from the [G3588] cross [G4716]!
41: And in like manner [G3668][G1161] also [G2532] the [G3588] chief priests mocking [G1702] with [G3326] the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] elders [G4245], said [G3004],
42: Others he delivered [G4982], himself [G1438] he is not [G3756] able [G1410] to deliver [G4982]. If [G1487] king of Israel he is , let him come down [G2597] now [G3568] from the [G3588] cross [G4716], and [G2532] we will trust '[G4100] upon [G2089] him [G1473]!
43: He relied [G3982] upon [G1909] the [G3588] God '[G2316]; let him rescue [G4506] him now [G3568][G1473]! if [G1487] he wants [G2309] him [G1473]. For he said [G2036][G1063] that [G3754], of God '[G2316] I am son [G5207].
44: And the [G3588][G1161] same [way [G1473] also [G2532] the [G3588] robbers [G3027] the [G3588] being crucified along with [G4957] him [G1473] berated [G3679] him [G1473].
45: And from [G1161] sixth [G1622] hour [G5610] darkness [G4655] came [G1096] upon [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] until [G2193] hour [G5610] ninth [G1766].
46: And around [G4012][G1161] the [G3588] ninth [G1766] hour [G5610] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) yelled out the [G3588] voice [G5456] with a great [G3173], saying [G3004], Eli [G2241], Eli [G2241], lima sabacthani [G4518]; that is [G5123], God '[G2316] of me [G1473], God '[G2316] of me [G1473], why [G2444] have you abandoned me [G1473][G1459]?
47: And some [G5100][G1161] of the [G3588] [ones] standing there [G1563][G2476] having heard , said [G3004] that [G3754], calls Elijah [G5455] This one [G3778].
48: And [G2532] immediately [G2112] running [G5143] one [G1520] of [G1537] them [G1473], and [G2532] taking [G2983] a sponge [G4699], filling [G4130] also [G5037] of vinegar [G3690], and [G2532] putting it on [G4060] a reed [G2563] gave him to drink [G4222][G1473].
49: And the [G3588][G1161] rest [G3062] said [G3004], Let go ! we should see [G1492] if [G1487] Elijah comes [G2064] delivering [G4982] him [G1473].
50: the [G3588] And [G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) again [G3825], having cried out [G2896] voice [G5456] with a great [G3173], let go the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151].
51: And [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] veil [G2665] of the [G3588] temple [G3485] was split [G4977] in [G1519] two [G1417] from above unto [G2193] below [G2736]; and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] was shaken [G4579], and [G2532] the [G3588] rocks [G4073] split [G4977];
52: and [G2532] the [G3588] tombs [G3419] were opened , and [G2532] many [G4183] bodies [G4983] of the [G3588] sleeping [G2837] pure ' ones arose [G1453];
53: and [G2532] having come forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] tombs [G3419], after [G3326] the [G3588] his rising up [G1454][G1473], entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] pure ' city [G4172], and [G2532] were revealed [G1718] to many [G4183].
54: the [G3588] And [G1161] centurion [G1543], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473] keeping [guard over [G5083] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), having looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] earthquake [G4578], and [G2532] the [things] [G3588] happening [G1096], feared [G5399] exceedingly [G4970], saying [G3004], Truly son of God '[G2316][G5207] this was [G3778].
55: And were [G1161] there [G1563] women [G1135] many [G4183] from far off [G3113] viewing [G2334], ones who [G3748] followed the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) from the [G3588] Galilee, serving [G1247] to him [G1473];
56: among [G1722] whom [G3739] was Mary the [G3588] Magdalene, and [G2532] Mary the [G3588] of the [G3588] James and [G2532] Joses mother [G3384], and [G2532] the [G3588] mother [G3384] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Zebedee.
57: And evening [G3798][G1161] having become [G1096], [there] came [G2064] man a rich [G4145] from Arimathea, by name [G5122] Joseph, who [G3739] also [G2532] himself [G1473] was trained '[G3100] [by the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]).
58: This one [G3778] having come forward [G4334] [to the [G3588] Pilate, asked the [G3588] body [G4983] of the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]). Then [G5119] the [G3588] Pilate bid [G2753] to give the [G3588] body [G4983].
59: And [G2532] having taken [G2983] the [G3588] body [G4983], the [G3588] Joseph swathed [G1794] it [G1473] fine linen [G4616] with pure [G2513],
60: and [G2532] he placed [G5087] it [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] his new [G2537][G1473] sepulchre [G3419], which [G3739] he quarried [G2998] in [G1722] the [G3588] rock [G4073]. And [G2532] having rolled [G4351] stone [G3037] a great [G3173] for the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] sepulchre [G3419], he went forth .
61: And was [G1161] there [G1563], Mary the [G3588] Magdalene, and [G2532] the [G3588] other Mary, sitting down [G2521] before the [G3588] tomb [G5028].
62: And the [G3588][G1161] next day [G1887], which [G3748] is after [G3326] the [G3588] preparation [G3904], were gathered together [G4863] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) to [G4314] Pilate,
63: saying [G3004], O boss [G2962], we remember [G3403] that [G3754], that [G1565] the [G3588] deluded one [G4108] said [G2036], while still [G2089] living [G2198], After [G3326] three [G5140] days [G2250] I arise [G1453].
64: Bid [G2753] then [G3767] to safeguard the [G3588] tomb [G5028] until [G2193] the [G3588] third [G5154] day [G2250]! lest at any time [G3379] coming [G2064] the [G3588] his trainees '[G3101][G1473] at night [G3571] should steal [G2813] it [G1473], and [G2532] should say [G2036] to the [G3588] people [G2992], He is risen [G1453] from the [G3588] dead [G3498]; and [G2532] will be the [G3588] last [G2078] delusion [G4106] worse than [G5501] the [G3588] first [G4413].
65: said [G5346] And [G1161] to them [G1473] the [G3588] Pilate], You have [G2192] a custodial guard [G2892], Go away [G5217]! You safeguard as [G5613] you know [G1492]!
66: And the [G3588] [ones] having gone [G4198] safeguarded the [G3588] tomb [G5028], setting a seal upon [G4972] the [G3588] stone [G3037] by [G3326] the [G3588] custodial guard [G2892].
