Joshua Chapter 22 - | Early Church Bible

1: Then [G5119] Joshua called together [G4779] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh.
2: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], You [G1473] have heard the whole , as much as [G3745] gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473] Moses the [G3588] servant [G3816] [of the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] you heeded [G1873] the [G3588] my voice [G5456][G1473] according to [G2596] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] I gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473].
3: And [G2532] you have not abandoned [G3756][G1459] the [G3588] your brothers [G1473] these [G3778] the [G3588] days [G2250][G2532] many [G4183]; until [G2193] day [G2250] of the [G3588] today [G4594] you guarded [G5442] the [G3588] commandment [G1785] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473].
4: And now [G3568][G1161] rested [G2664] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] the [G3588] our brothers [G1473] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] he spoke [G2036] to them [G1473]. Now [G3568] then [G3767] in returning you go forth to [G1519] the [G3588] your houses [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] to [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] your possession [G2697][G1473] which [G3739] gave [G1325] to you [G1473] Moses bondman [G1401] of Boss '[G2962] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan.
5: But guard [G5442] exceedingly [G4970] to do [G4160] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] and [G2532] the [G3588] law [G3551], which [G3739] gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473] Moses the [G3588] servant [G3816] [of the] Boss '[G2962] -- to love Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] to go [G4198] by [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] his ways [G3598][G1473], to guard [G5442] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of him [G1473], and [G2532] to lie near to them [G1473], and [G2532] to serve [G3000] him [G1473] in [G1537] all [G3650] the [G3588] your thought [G1271][G1473], and [G2532] of [G1537] entire [G3650] the [G3588] soul [G5590] your [G1473].
6: And [G2532] blessed [G2127] them [G1473] Joshua], and [G2532] sent [G1821] them [G1473], and [G2532] they went [G4198] unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir houses [G3624][G1473].
7: And [G2532] to the [G3588] halves [G2255] of tribe [G5443] Moses gave [G1325] [a portion] in [G1722] the [G3588] Bashan [area]; and [G2532] to the [G3588] halves [G2255] Joshua gave [a portion [G1325] with [G3326] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan towards [G3844] west [G2281]. And [G2532] when [G2259] sent [G1821] them [G1473] Joshua] unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir houses [G3624][G1473], then [G2532] he blessed [G2127] them [G1473] saying [G3004],
8: With [G1722] things [G5536] many [G4183] they went forth unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir houses [G3624][G1473], and [with [G2532] cattle [G2934] much [G4183] exceedingly [G4970], and [G2532] silver , and [G2532] gold [G5553], and [G2532] brass [G5475], and [G2532] iron [tools [G4604], and [G2532] clothes [G2441] much [G4183] exceedingly [G4970]; [and] they divided [G1244] the [G3588] spoils of the [G3588]ir enemies [G2190][G1473] with [G3326] the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473].
9: And [G2532] returned and [G2532] went [G4198] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben], and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh from the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel from [G1537] Shiloh in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Canaan, to go forth into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Gilead, into [G1519] land '[G1093] of their possession [G2697][G1473] which [G3739] they inherited [G2816] it [G1473], through [G1223] order of Boss '[G2962] by [G1722] hand [G5495] of Moses.
10: And [G2532] they came [G2064] into [G1519] Galeloth the [G3588] of Jordan, which [G3739] is in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Canaan; and [G2532] they built [G3618] (the the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh) there [G1563] a shrine [G1041] upon [G1909] the [G3588] Jordan; shrine [G1041] a great [G3173] the [G3588] to look [at] [G1492].
11: And [G2532] heard the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel], saying [G3004], look [G2400], they built [G3618] (the the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh) a shrine [G1041] upon [G1909] border [G3725] of land '[G1093] of Canaan, at [G1909] the [G3588] Gilead the [G3588] of Jordan, on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of sons [G5207] of Israel.
12: And [G2532] heard the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel], and [G2532] gathered together [G4867] all [G3956] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] in [G1519] Shiloh, for [G5620] their going up [G1473] to wage war .
13: And [G2532] sent the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh, into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Gilead, the [G3588] both [G5037] Phinehas son [G5207] of Eleazar, son [G5207] of Aaron the [G3588] chief priest [G2409],
14: and [G2532] ten [G1176] of the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473]; ruler one [G1520] from a house [G3624] of family [G3965], from all [G3956] of the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of Israel, men rulers of houses [G3624] of families [G3965] -- they are commanders of thousands [G5506] in Israel.
15: And [G2532] they came [G3854] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] halves [G2255] of tribe [G5443] of Manasseh, unto [G1519] land '[G1093] of Gilead; and [G2532] they spoke [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473], saying [G3004],
16: Thus [G3592] says [G3004] all [G3956] the [G3588] congregation [G4864] of Boss '[G2962], What [G5100] the [G3588] [is] this trespass [G3778] which [G3739] you trespass before [G1725] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, to turn away today [G4594] from behind [G3693] Boss '[G2962] by building [G3618] for yourselves [G1438] a shrine [G1041], defectors to become [G1096] [for] you [G1473] today [G4594] from Boss '[G2962]?
17: [Is it [G3361] a small [thing] [G3397] to you [G1473], the [G3588] sin of Peor, that [G3754] we were not [G3756] cleansed [G2511] from it [G1473] unto [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778], and [G2532] there became [G1096] the [G3588] calamity [G4127] in [G1722] the [G3588] congregation [G4864] of Boss '[G2962]?
18: And [G2532] you [G1473] were turned away today [G4594] from Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] tomorrow upon [G1909] all [G3956] Israel there will be anger [G3709].
19: And [G2532] now [G3568], if [G1487] [be] small [G3397] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] your possession [G2697][G1473], pass over [G1224] into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] possession [G2697] of Boss '[G2962]! where [G3699] encamps [G2681] there [G1563] the [G3588] tent [G4633] of Boss '[G2962]; and [G2532] inherit among [G1722] us [G1473], and [G2532] from Boss '[G2962] not [G3361] defectors be [G1096]! and [G2532] from us [G1473] do not [G3361] separate ! on account of [G1223] the [G3588] your building [G3618][G1473] a shrine [G1041] outside [G1854] the [G3588] altar [G2379] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473].
20: Look did not [G3756][G2400] Achan the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Zara a trespass trespass from of the [G3588]fering for consumption , and [G2532] upon [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] congregation [G4864] became [G1096] anger [G3709]? And [G2532] this [G3778] one [G1520] only [sinned [G3441], [but] not [G3361] this one [G3778] alone [G3441] died for [G1722] the [G3588] his sin [G1473].
21: And [G2532] they answered (the the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] tribe [G5443] of Manasseh,) and [G2532] said [G2980] to the [G3588] commanders of thousands [G5506] of Israel, saying [G3004],
22: God the [G3588][G2316], the [G3588] God '[G2316] Boss '[G2962] is . And [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] BOSS God '[G2316][G2962] himself [G1473] knows [G1492], and [G2532] Israel itself [G1473] will know [G1097]; if [G1487] by [G1722] defection we trespassed before [G1725] Boss '[G2962], may he not rescue [G3361][G4506] us [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
23: And [G2532] if [G1487] we built [G3618] for ourselves [G1438] a shrine [G1041], so as [G5620] to depart from Boss '[G2962], or [G2228] so as [G5620] to haul up on [G1909] it [G1473] a sacrifice [G2378] of whole burnt-offerings [G3646], or [G2228] so as [G5620] to make [G4160] upon [G1909] it [G1473] a sacrifice [G2378] of deliverance [G4992], Boss '[G2962] himself [G1473] will inquire [G1567].
24: But because of [G1752] veneration [G2124] thing [G4487] we did [G4160] this [G3778], saying [G3004] that [G2443], Should [G3361] tomorrow say [G2036] the [G3588] children [G5043] of you [G1473] [to the [G3588] our children [G5043][G1473], saying [G3004], What [G5100] [is it] to you [G1473] and [G2532] [to the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel?
25: And [G2532] a border [G3725] BOSS put [G5087][G2962] between us [G1473] and [G2532] you [G1473], the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad -- the [G3588] Jordan; and [G2532] there is no [G3756] to you [G1473] portion [G3310] of Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] will separate the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473] the [G3588] from our sons [G5207][G1473], that [G2443] they should not [G3361] worship [G4576] Boss '[G2962].
26: And [G2532] we said [G2036] to do [G4160] thus [G3779], the [G3588] to build [G3618] the [G3588] this shrine [G1041][G3778], not [G3756] because of [G1752] yield [offerings , nor [G3761] because of [G1752] sacrifices [G2378],
27: but that [G2443] might be this testimony [G3142][G3778] between us [G1473] and [G2532] between you [G1473], and [G2532] between the [G3588] our generations [G1074][G1473] after [G3326] us [G1473], the [G3588] to serve [G3000] the [G3588] service [G2999] of Boss '[G2962] before [G1726] him [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] our yield [offerings [G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] our sacrifices [G2378][G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] sacrifices [G2378] of the [G3588] our deliverances [G4992][G1473]; and [so that [G2532] will not say [G3756][G2046] the [G3588] children [G5043] of you [G1473] tomorrow [to the [G3588] our children [G5043][G1473], There is no [G3756] portion to you [G1473][G3310] of Boss '[G2962].
28: And [G2532] we said [G2036], If [G1437] it comes to pass [G1096] at some time or other [G4218], and [G2532] they will speak [G2980] to [G4314] us [G1473] or [G2228] [to the [G3588] our generations [G1074][G1473] tomorrow , then [G2532] we will say [G2046], look [at] [G1492]! [it is] a representation [G3667] of the [G3588] altar [G2379] of Boss '[G2962] which [G3739] made [G4160] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473]. [It is] not [G3756] for [G1752] yield [offerings , nor [G3761] for [G1752] sacrifices [G2378], but it is a testimony [G3142] between you [G1473], and [G2532] between us [G1473], and [G2532] between the [G3588] our sons [G5207][G1473].
29: May it not [G3361] be [G1096] then [G3767] for us [G1473] to leave from Boss '[G2962], so as [G5620] to turn away in [G1722] the [G3588] today's [G4594] days [G2250] from Boss '[G2962], so as [G5620] to build [G3618] us [G1473] an altar [G2379] for the [G3588] yield [offerings , and [G2532] the [G3588] sacrifices [G2378], and [G2532] the [G3588] sacrifice [G2378] of the [G3588] deliverance [G4992], except for [G4133] the [G3588] altar [G2379] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] which [G3739] is before [G1726] the [G3588] his tent [G4633][G1473].
30: And [G2532] heard Phinehas the [G3588] priest [G2409], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] congregation [G4864], and [G2532] the [G3588] commanders [G5506] of Israel, the ones who [G3739] were with [G3326] him [G1473], the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] they spoke [G2980], the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Manasseh, and [G2532] it pleased them [G1473].
31: And [G2532] said [G2036] Phinehas son [G5207] of Eleazar the [G3588] priest [G2409] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Manasseh, Today [G4594] we know [G1097] that [G3754] [is] with [G3326] us [G1473] Boss '[G2962], for [G1360] you did not [G3756] trespass before [G1726] Boss '[G2962] this trespass [G3778], and [G2532] that [G3754] you rescued [G4506] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of Boss '[G2962].
32: And [G2532] returned Phinehas son [G5207] of Eleazar the [G3588] priest [G2409] and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers from the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben, and [G2532] from the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad, from out of [G1537] the [G3588] Gilead unto [G1519] land '[G1093] of Canaan, to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel; and [G2532] they answered to them [G1473] [with these the [G3588] words [G3056].
33: And [G2532] was pleasing the [G3588] word [G3056] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel; and [G2532] they blessed [G2127] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of sons [G5207] of Israel. And [G2532] no longer [G3765] they spoke [G2036] to go up to [G4314] them [G1473] for [G1519] war [G4171], to utterly destroy [G1842] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Reuben and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Gad which [G3739] they dwelt [G2730] upon [G1909] it [G1473].
34: And [G2532] he named [G2028] for the [G3588] Reuben and [G2532] for the [G3588] Gad the [G3588] shrine [G1041]. And [G2532] they said [G2036] that [G3754], It is a testimony [G3142] in the midst of them [G1473], that [G3754] Boss '[G2962] he [G1473] their God '[G2316][G1473] is .
