1: Grow in strength [G1765], O sons [G5207] of Benjamin, from [G1537] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] Jerusalem! And [G2532] in [G1722] Tekoa signify [G4591] by trumpet [G4536]! And [G2532] over [G5228] Beth-haccerem lift a sign [G4592]! For [G3754] bad [things] [G2556] look from north [G1005], and [G2532] destruction great [G3173] is happening [G1096].
2: And [G2532] will be removed the [G3588] your haughtiness [G5311][G1473], O daughter [G2364] of Zion.
3: unto [G1519] her [G1473] will come [G2240] Shepherds [G4166] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir flocks [G4168][G1473]; and [G2532] they will pitch [G4078] against [G1909] her [G1473] tents [G4633] round about [G2945]. And [G2532] will tend [G4165] each [G1538] the [G3588] with his hand [G5495][G1473].
4: Make preparations [G3903] against [G1909] her [G1473] for [G1519] war [G4171]! Rise up ! for [G2532] we should go up upon [G1909] her [G1473] at midday [G3314]. Woe [G3759] to us [G1473], for [G3754] has declined [G2827] the [G3588] day [G2250], for [G3754] fail [G1587] the [G3588] shadows [G4639] of the [G3588] day [G2250].

6: For [G3754] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] of for the [G3588]ces [G1411], Cut down [G1581] the [G3588] her trees [G3586][G1473]! Discharge [G1632] against [G1909] Jerusalem a force [G1411], O [G5599] city [G4172] lying [G5571]! Complete [G3650] tyranny [is] in [G1722] her [G1473].
7: As [G5613] cools [G5594] a well its water [G5204][G1473], so [G3779] cools [G5594] evil [G2549] her [G1473]. Impiety and [G2532] misery [G5004] will be heard in [G1722] her [G1473] before [G1909] her face [G4383][G1473] always [G1275].
8: In misery [G4192] and [G2532] [with] a whip [G3148] you will be corrected [G3811], O Jerusalem, lest [G3361] should depart the [G3588] soul [G5590] of me [G1473] from you [G1473]; lest [G3361] I should make [G4160] you [G1473] an untrodden land '[G1093], which [G3748] will not [G3756] be settled in .
9: For [G3754] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] of for the [G3588]ces [G1411], Glean ! Glean as [G5613] a grapevine the [G3588] remnants [G2645] of the [G3588] Israel]! Return [G1994] as [G5613] one gathering the vintage [G5166] [returns] unto [G1909] the [G3588] his basket [G1473]!
10: To [G4314] whom [G5100] should I speak [G2980], and [G2532] testify [G1263], and [G2532] he will hearken [G1522]? look [G2400], [are] uncircumcised the [G3588]ir ears [G3775][G1473], and [G2532] they are not able [G3756][G1410] to hear . 11: And [G2532] the [G3588] my rage [G2372][G1473] I filled [G4130], and [G2532] I waited [G1907], but [G2532] not [G3756] finished them off entirely [G4931][G1473]. I will pour out [G1632] upon [G1909] simple ones [G3516] outside [G1855], and [G2532] upon [G1909] gathering [G4864] of young men [G3495] together ; for [G3754] man and [G2532] woman [G1135] will be seized [G4815]; elder [G4245] with [G3326] [the one] full [G4134] of days [G2250].

13: For [G3754] from their small [G3397][G1473] and [G2532] unto [G2193] great [G3173] all [G3956] have completed [G4931] lawless deeds ; from priest [G2409] and [G2532] unto [G2193] false prophet [G5578], all [G3956] acted [G4160] falsely [G5571].
14: And [G2532] they repaired [G2390] the [G3588] destruction [G4938] of the [G3588] my people [G2992][G1473] treating it with contempt [G1848], and [G2532] saying [G3004], Peace [G1515]. And [G2532] where [G4226] is peace [G1515]?
15: They were shamed [G2617] for [G3754] they failed [G1587]; but [G2532] neither [G3761] as [G5613] ones being disgraced [G2617] were they disgraced [G2617]; and [G2532] the [G3588]ir dishonor [G1473] they knew not [G3756][G1097]. On account of [G1223] this [G3778] they will fall [G4098] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir downfall [G4431][G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] time [G2540] of their visitation [G1984][G1473] they will perish , said [G2036] Boss '[G2962].
16: Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], Stand [G2476] upon [G1909] the [G3588] ways [G3598], and [G2532] look [at] [G1492]! and [G2532] ask [G2065] roads [G5147] [of the] Boss '[G2962] of the term (age) '! and [G2532] see [G1492] what kind [G4169] is the [G3588] way [G3598] the [G3588] good ! and [G2532] proceed in [G1722] it [G1473]! and [G2532] you will find [G2147] purification [to the [G3588] your souls [G5590][G1473]. And [G2532] they said [G2036], We will not [G3756] go [G4198].
17: I have placed [G2525] over [G1909] you [G1473] watchmen [G4649]; hearken to the [G3588] sound [G5456] of trumpet [G4536]! But [G2532] they said [G2036], We will not [G3756] hearken .
18: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], heard the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] tending [G4165] the [G3588]ir flocks [G4168][G1473].
19: Hearken , O land '[G1093]! look [G2400], I [G1473] will bring [G1863] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] bad [things] [G2556] -- the [G3588] fruit [G2590] of their rejection [G1473]. For [G3754] the [G3588] my word [G3056][G1473] they heeded not [G3756][G4337], and [G2532] the [G3588] my law [G3551][G1473] they have thrust away .
20: Why [G2444] to me [G1473] frankincense [G3030] from out of [G1537] Sheba do you bring [G5342], and [G2532] cinnamon [G2792] from out of [G1537] a land '[G1093] far off [G3113]? the [G3588] Your whole burnt-offerings [G3646][G1473] not [G3756] are acceptable [G1184], and [G2532] the [G3588] your sacrifices [G2378][G1473] have not [G3756] delighted me [G1473].
21: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], look [G2400], I [G1473] impute [G1325] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] weakness , and [G2532] will weaken in [G1722] it [G1473] fathers [G3962] and [G2532] sons [G5207] together ; neighbor [G1069] and [G2532] the [G3588] his near one [G4139][G1473] will perish .
22: Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], look [G2400], a people [G2992] comes [G2064] from north [G1005], and [G2532] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] will be awakened [G1825] from end [G2078] of the [G3588] land '[G1093].
23: Bow [G5115] and [G2532] pike they will hold [G2902]. It is audacious , and [G2532] will not [G3756] show compassion [G1653]. Its sound [G5456][G1473] [is] as [G5613] sea [G2281] swelling up . Upon [G1909] horses [G2462] and [G2532] chariots it will deploy as [G5613] fire [G4442] for [G1519] war [G4171] against [G4314] you [G1473], O daughter [G2364] of Zion.
24: We heard the [G3588] report of them [G1473]; were disabled [G3886] the [G3588] our hands [G5495][G1473]; affliction [G2347] holds us down [G2722][G1473]; pangs [G5604] as [G5613] a woman giving birth [G5088].
25: Do not go forth [G3361][G1607] into [G1519] a field , and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] ways [G3598] do not [G3361] proceed ! For [G3754] a broadsword [G4501] of the [G3588] enemies [G2190] sojourns [G3939] round about [G2943].
26: Daughter [G2364] of my people [G2992][G1473], gird on [G4024] sackcloth [G4526]! Strew ashes [G4700]! mourning [G3997] as of a beloved one You will observe [G4160] for yourself [G4572] by beating the breast [G2870] pitiably . For [G3754] suddenly [G1810] will come [G2240] misery [G5004] upon [G1909] you [G1473].
27: [as] an approver I have appointed [G1325] you [G1473] among [G1722] peoples [G2992] being tried [G1381]; and [G2532] you will know [G1097] in [G1722] the [G3588] my trying [G1381][G1473] the [G3588]ir way [G3598][G1473].
28: All [G3956] are unhearing , going [G4198] crookedly ; as brass [G5475] and [G2532] iron [G4604] all [G3956] being corrupted [G1311] they are .
29: failed [G1587] bellows at fire [G4442]; failed [G1587] lead ; in [G1519] vain [G2756] silversmith works silver ; their wickednesses [G4189][G1473] do not [G3756] melt away [G5080].
30: silver rejected Call [G2564] them [G1473]! for [G3754] rejected them [G1473] Boss '[G2962].
