3 John Chapter 1 - | Early Church Bible

1: The [G3588] elder [G4245], to Gaius the [G3588] beloved , whom [G3739] I [G1473] love in [G1722] truth .
2: Beloved , concerning [G4012] all [things] [G3956] I make a vow [G2172] for you [G1473] to prosper [G2137] and [G2532] to be in health [G5198], as [G2531] prospers [G2137] your [G1473] the [G3588] soul [G5590].
3: For I rejoiced [G5463][G1063] exceedingly [G3029] coming [G2064] of brothers , and [G2532] bearing witness [G3140] of you [G1473] in the [G3588] truth , as [G2531] you [G1473] in [G1722] truth walk [G4043].
4: greater [G3173] [than] this [G3778] no [G3756] I have [G2192] joy [G5479], that [G2443] I should hear of the [G3588] my [G1699] children [G5043] in [G1722] truth walking [G4043].
5: Beloved , trusting [G4103] do [G4160] what [G3739] ever [G1437] you should work [G2038] among [G1519] the [G3588] brothers , and [G2532] among [G1519] the [G3588] strangers [G3581],
6: (the [ones] [G3588] witnessing [G3140] of yours [G1473] to the [G3588] love before [G1799] assembly) [G1577], whom [G3739] well [G2573] you will do [G4160] having sent forward [G4311] worthily of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
7: For on account of [G5228][G1063] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473] they went forth [G1831] nothing [G3367] taking [G2983] from the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484].
8: We [G1473] then [G3767] ought [G3784] to accept the [G3588] such [G5108], that [G2443] fellow-workers [G4904] we should become [G1096] in the [G3588] truth .
9: I wrote [G1125] to the [G3588] assembly [G1577], but the [G3588] [one] enjoying being first [G5383] of them [G1473] -- Diotrephes, does not [G3756] welcome [G1926] us [G1473].
10: On account of this [G1223][G3778], if [G1437] I come [G2064], I will remind [G5279] him [G1473] the [G3588] works [G2041] which [G3739] he does [G4160] -- words [G3056] evil [G4190] prating against [G5396] us [G1473]. And [G2532] not [G3361] being sufficient with [G1909] these [G3778], neither [G3777] he himself [G1473] welcomes [G1926] the [G3588] brothers , and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] wanting to [G1014] he restrains [G2967], and [G2532] of [G1537] the [G3588] assembly [G1577] casts [them] out [G1544].
11: Beloved , do not [G3361] imitate [G3401] the [G3588] evil [G2556], but the [G3588] good ! the [G3588] [one] doing good of [G1537] the [G3588] God '[G2316] is ; but the [G3588] [one] [G1161] doing evil [G2554] has not [G3756] seen [G3708] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
12: To Demetrius witness is borne [G3140] by [G5259] all [G3956], and [G2532] by [G5259] itself [G1473] the [G3588] truth ; and we also [G2532][G1473][G1161] bear witness [G3140], and [G2532] you know [G1492] that [G3754] the [G3588] our witness [G3141][G1473] is true .
13: Many [things] [G4183] I have [G2192] to write [G1125], but I do not want [G3756][G2309] by [G1223] ink [G3188] and [G2532] reed [G2563] to you [G1473] to write [G1125].
