2 Kings Chapter 25 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] ninth [G1766] year [G2094] of the [G3588] his government '[G1473], in [G1722] the [G3588] month [G3376] the [G3588] tenth [G1181], on [G1722] tenth [G1181] of the [G3588] month [G3376], came [G2064] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his force [G1411][G1473], against [G1909] Jerusalem. And [G2532] he camped about [G1909] it [G1473], and [G2532] built [G3618] upon [G1909] it [G1473] a rampart round about [G2945].
2: And [G2532] became [G2064] the [G3588] city [G4172] for [G1519] being encompassed about [G4042] until [G2193] the [G3588] eleventh [G1734] year [G2094] of Zedekiah the [G3588] king , ninth [G1766] of the [G3588] month [G3376].
3: And [G2532] grew in strength [G1765] the [G3588] hunger [G3042] in [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] no [G3756] there was bread to the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093].
4: And [G2532] was torn [through [G4486] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] war [G4171] went forth [G1831] [by] night [G3571] in way [G3598] of gate [G4439] the [G3588] between the [G3588] walls [G5038], which [G3739] is of the [G3588] garden [G2779] of the [G3588] king . (And [G2532] the [G3588] Chaldeans [were] upon [G1909] the [G3588] city [G4172] round about; [G2945]) and [G2532] they went [G4198] way [G3598], the [G3588] [one] unto [G1909] descent [G1424].
5: And [G2532] pursued [G1377] for the [G3588]ce [G1411] of the [G3588] Chaldeans] after [G3694] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] they overtook [G2638] him [G1473] by [G2596] descent [G1424] of Jericho; and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his force [G1411][G1473] were dispersed [G1289] from about him [G1473].
6: And [G2532] they seized [G4815] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] they conveyed ' him [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] king of Babylon in [G1519] Riblah. And [G2532] he spoke [G2980] against [G3326] him [G1473] a judgment [G2920].
7: And [G2532] he slew [G4969] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Zedekiah before [G2596] his eyes [G3788][G1473]. And [G2532] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of Zedekiah he blinded , and [G2532] he tied [G1210] him [G1473] in [G1722] shackles [G3976], and [G2532] conveyed ' him [G1473] unto [G1519] Babylon.
8: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] month [G3376] the [G3588] fifth [G3991], seventh [G1442] of the [G3588] month [G3376], this [is [G1473] year [G1763] nineteenth of the [G3588] reign of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came [G2064] Nabuzar-adan, the [G3588] chief guard , the [G3588] [one] standing [G2476] in the presence [G1799] of king of Babylon, into [G1519] Jerusalem.
9: And [G2532] he burned [G1714] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] houses [G3624] of Jerusalem; and [G2532] every [G3956] house [G3624] great [G3173] he burned [G1714] by [G1722] fire [G4442].
10: And [G2532] the [G3588] wall [G5038] of Jerusalem round about [G2943] tore down for the [G3588]ce [G1411] of the [G3588] Chaldeans].
11: And [G2532] the [G3588] extra [ones [G4053] of the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] being left behind [G2641] in [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] falling in [G1706] who [G3739] fell in [G1706] with [G4314] the [G3588] king of Babylon, and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of the [G3588] support removed [G3332] Nabuzar-adan the [G3588] chief guard .
12: And [G2532] off the [G3588] [ones] begging [G4434] of the [G3588] land '[G1093] left behind [G5275] the [G3588] chief guard as [G1519] vine dressers and [G2532] farmers [G1092].
13: And [G2532] the [G3588] columns [G4769], of the [G3588] [ones] of brass [G5470], of the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [G3588] bases , and [G2532] the [G3588] sea [G2281] the [G3588] brass [G5470], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], cut up the [G3588] Chaldeans], and [G2532] they carried the [G3588]ir brass [G5475][G1473] unto [G1519] Babylon.
14: And [G2532] the [G3588] kettles , and [G2532] the [G3588] shovels , and [G2532] the [G3588] bowls [G5357], and [G2532] the [G3588] incense pans , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] items [G4632] of the [G3588] brass [G5470] in [G1722] which [G3739] they officiated [G3008] with [G1722] them [G1473], he took [G2983].
15: And [G2532] the [G3588] censers , and [G2532] the [G3588] bowls [G5357], the [G3588] [ones] of gold [G5552], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] of silver , took [G2983] the [G3588] chief guard .
16: columns [G4769] two [G1417], and [G2532] the [G3588] sea [G2281] one [G1520], and [G2532] the [G3588] bases which [G3739] Solomon made [G4160] for the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962]. There was no [measuring [G3756] weight of the [G3588] brass [G5475] of all [G3956] the [G3588] items [G4632].
17: Eighteen cubits [G4083] [was] the [G3588] height [G5311] of the [G3588] column [G4769] the [G3588] [one] [G1520], and [G2532] the [G3588] capital upon [G1909] it [G1473] of the [G3588] brass [G5470]. Three [G5140] cubits [G4083] [was] the [G3588] height [G5311] of the [G3588] capital . And [G2532] lattice [work [G1350] and [G2532] pomegranates upon [G1909] the [G3588] capital round about [G2945] [were] entirely [G3956] of brass [G5470]. And [G2532] according to [G2596] these [G3778] [it was] to the [G3588] column [G4769] the [G3588] second [G1208] upon [G1909] the [G3588] lattice [work [G1350].
18: And [G2532] took [G2983] the [G3588] chief guard the [G3588] Seraiah the [G3588] priest [G2409] for the [G3588]emost [G4413], and [G2532] the [G3588] Zephaniah the [G3588] priest [G2409] the [G3588] second rank , and [G2532] the [G3588] three [G5140] the [G3588] guarding [G5442] the [G3588] money ;
19: and [G2532] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] city [G4172] he took [G2983] eunuch [G2135] one [G1520] who [G3739] was supervisor [G1988] of the [G3588] men the [G3588] warriors , and [G2532] five [G4002] men of the [G3588] [ones] appearing [G3708] the [G3588] in front [G4383] of the [G3588] king , of the [G3588] [ones] being found [G2147] in [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]) of the [G3588] ruler of for the [G3588]ce [G1411], the [G3588] [one] arraying the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] sixty [G1835] men of the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] being found [G2147] in [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172].
20: And [G2532] took [G2983] them [G1473] Nabuzar-adan the [G3588] chief guard , and [G2532] he led them away [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] king of Babylon in [G1519] Riblah.
21: And [G2532] smote [G3817] them [G1473] the [G3588] king of Babylon], and [G2532] killed them [G2289][G1473] in [G1519] Riblah in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Hamath. And [G2532] he resettled Judah from the [G3588] its land '[G1093][G1473].
22: And [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] being left behind [G2641] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Judah, whom [G3739] left behind [G2641] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon], he placed [G2525] over [G1909] it [G1473] the [G3588] Gedaliah son [G5207] of Ahikam, son [G5207] of Shaphan.
23: And [G2532] heard all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers of for the [G3588]ce [G1411], they [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir men [G1473], that [G3754] placed [G2525] king of Babylon the [G3588] Gedaliah [in charge]. And [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G4314] Gedaliah in [G1519] Mizpah -- even [G2532] Ishmael son [G5207] of Nethaniah, and [G2532] Johanan son [G5207] of Careah, and [G2532] Seraiah son [G5207] of Tanhumeth the [G3588] Netophathite, and [G2532] Jaazaniah son [G5207] of the [G3588] Maachathite, they [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir men [G1473].
24: And [G2532] Gedaliah swore by an oath [G3660] to them [G1473], and [G2532] [to the [G3588]ir men [G1473], and [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473], Do not [G3361] fear [G5399] passing by [G3938] of the [G3588] Chaldeans! Sit down [G2523] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] serve [G1398] the [G3588] king of Babylon! and [G2532] it will be well [G2573] to you [G1473].
25: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] month [G3376] the [G3588] seventh [G1442], came [G2064] Ishmael son [G5207] of Nethaniah, son [G5207] of Elishama, of [G1537] the [G3588] seed [G4690] of the [G3588] government ', and [G2532] ten [G1176] men with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] he struck [G3960] the [G3588] Gedaliah and [G2532] he died , even [G2532] the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] the [G3588] Chaldeans who [G3739] were with [G3326] him [G1473] in [G1722] Mizpah.
26: And [G2532] rose up all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] from small [G3397] unto [G2193] great [G3173], and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers of for the [G3588]ce [G1411], and [G2532] they entered [G1525] into [G1519] Egypt; for [G3754] they feared [G5399] from face [G4383] of the [G3588] Chaldeans.
27: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] thirtieth and [G2532] seventh [G1442] year [G2094] of the [G3588] resettlement of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in [G1722] the [G3588] twelfth [G1428] month [G3376], seventh [G1442] and [G2532] twentieth day of the [G3588] month [G3376], raised up high [G5312] Evil-merodach king of Babylon] in [G1722] the [G3588] first year [G1763] of the [G3588] his government '[G1473] the [G3588] head [G2776] of Jehoiachin the [G3588] king of Judah, and [G2532] he led [G1806] him [G1473] from out of [G1537] house [G3624] of prison [G5438].
28: And [G2532] he spoke [G2980] with [G3326] him [G1473] [for] good , and [G2532] put [G1325] the [G3588] throne [G2362] of him [G1473] above [G1883] the [G3588] thrones [G2362] of the [G3588] kings the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473] in [G1722] Babylon.
29: And [G2532] he changed the [G3588] garments [G2440] of the [G3588] his prison [G5438][G1473], and [G2532] he ate [G2068] bread always [G1275] in his presence [G1799][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] his life [G2222][G1473].
30: And [G2532] the [G3588] his feasting [G1473] [was] a feasting always [G1275] given [G1325] to him [G1473] from out of [G1537] house [G3624] of the [G3588] king -- reckoning [G3056] a day's [G2250] in [G1722] the [G3588] his day [G2250][G1473], all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] his life [G2222][G1473].
