2 Kings Chapter 1 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] Moab annulled [allegiance with [G1722] Israel after [G3326] the [G3588] dying of Ahab.
2: And [G2532] Ahaziah fell [G4098] through [G1223] the [G3588] lattice the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] his upper room [G5253][G1473], the [G3588] in [G1722] Samaria, and [G2532] was infirm . And [G2532] he sent for word-conveyers (messengers) ', and [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], Go [G4198] and [G2532] ask [G1905] of [G1223] the [G3588] Baal fly god [G2316] of Ekron if [G1487] I will live [G2198] through [G1537] the [G3588] infirmity my [G1473] this [G3778]! And [G2532] they went [G4198] to ask [G1905].
3: And [G2532] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962] spoke [G2980] to [G4314] Elijah the [G3588] Tishbite, saying [G3004], Rise up , go [G1204] to [G1519] meet [G4877] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of Ahaziah king of Samaria! and [G2532] say [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473], Is it [G1487] on account of [G1223] the [G3588] not being [G3361] a God '[G2316] in [G1722] Israel you [G1473] go [G4198] to ask [G1905] of [G1223] the [G3588] Baal fly god [G2316] of Ekron?
4: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] bed [G2825] upon [G1909] which [G3739] you went up upon [G1909] it [G1473], you will not [G3756] go [G2597] from it [G1473], for [G3754] to death [G2288] you will die . And [G2532] Elijah went [G4198], and [G2532] spoke [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473].
5: And [G2532] returned [G1994] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' to [G4314] him [G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], Why [G5100] [is it] that [G3754] you have returned ?
6: And [G2532] they said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], A man went up to [G1519] meet [G4877] us [G1473], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] us [G1473], Go [G1205], return [G1994] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , the [G3588] [one] sending you [G1473], and [G2532] say [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473]! Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], Is it [G1487] because [G3844] the [G3588]re is no [G3361] God '[G2316] in [G1722] Israel you [G1473] go [G4198] to seek anxiously [G1934] by [G1722] the [G3588] Baal fly god [G2316] of Ekron? On account of [G1223] this [G3778], the [G3588] bed [G2825] upon [G1909] which [G3739] you went up upon [G1909] it [G1473], you will not [G3756] go [G2597] from it [G1473], for [G3754] to death [G2288] you will die .
7: And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] king , What [G5100] [was] the [G3588] distinguishing [mark [G2920] of the [G3588] man the [G3588] going up to [G1519] meet [G4877] you [G1473], and [G2532] speaking [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778]?
8: And [G2532] they said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], man [He was] a hairy , and [G2532] a belt [G2223] made of skin [G1193] was girded upon [G4024] the [G3588] his loin [G3751][G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036], Elijah the [G3588] Tishbite This [is [G3778].
9: And [G2532] he sent to [G4314] him [G1473] a commander of fifty , and [G2532] the [G3588] his fifty [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] he went up to [G4314] him [G1473]. And he [G1473][G1161] sat [G2521] upon [G1909] the [G3588] top of the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735]. And [G2532] spoke [G2980] the [G3588] commander of fifty to [G4314] him [G1473], O man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] king calls [G2564] you [G1473], come down [G2597]!
10: And [G2532] Elijah answered and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] commander of fifty , And [G2532] if [G1487] a man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] I [am [G1473], will come down [G2597] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] will devour [G2719] you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your fifty [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] there came down [G2597] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] devoured [G2719] him [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his fifty [G4004][G1473].
11: And [G2532] proceeded [G4369] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] he sent to [G4314] him [G1473] another commander of fifty , and [G2532] the [G3588] his fifty [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] went up the [G3588] commander of fifty and [G2532] spoke [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] said [G2036], O man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], thus [G3592] says [G3004] the [G3588] king , Quickly [G5030] come down [G2597]!
12: And [G2532] Elijah answered and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], If [G1487] a man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] I [am [G1473], will come down [G2597] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] will devour [G2719] you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your fifty [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] there came down [G2597] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] devoured [G2719] him [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his fifty [G4004][G1473].
13: And [G2532] proceeded [G4369] the [G3588] king again [G2089] to send commander of fifty a third [G5154] and [G2532] the [G3588] his fifty [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] commander of fifty the [G3588] third [G5154], and [G2532] he bent [G2578] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his knees [G1119][G1473] in front of [G2713] the [G3588] Elijah, and [G2532] beseeched [G1189] him [G1473], and [G2532] spoke [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] said [G2036], O man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], value indeed [G1211] the [G3588] life [G5590] of me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] lives [G5590] of the [G3588] your servants [G1401][G1473] -- these [G3778] the [G3588] fifty [G4004], in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]!
14: look [G2400], there came down [G2597] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] devoured [G2719] the [G3588] two [G1417] commanders of fifties the [G3588] first [G4413] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir fifties [G4004][G1473]. And [G2532] now [G3568] value indeed [G1211] the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] your servants [G1401][G1473] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]!
15: And [G2532] said [G2980] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] Elijah, Go down [G2597] with [G3326] him [G1473], you should not [G3361] fear [G5399] from their presence [G4383][G1473]. And [G2532] Elijah rose up and [G2532] went down [G2597] with [G3326] them [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] king .
16: And [G2532] he said [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], Because you sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' to ask [G1905] to [G1722] the [G3588] Baal fly god [G2316] of Ekron, as if [G5616] there was not [G3361] a God '[G2316] in [G1722] Israel the [G3588] to ask [G1905] the [G3588] word [G3056] of him [G1473], on account of [G1223] this [G3778] the [G3588] bed [G2825] upon [G1909] which [G3739] you went up upon [G1909] it [G1473], you will not [G3756] go down [G2597] from it [G1473], for [G3754] in death [G2288] you will die .
17: And [G2532] he died according to [G2596] the [G3588] saying [G4487] of Boss '[G2962] which [G3739] Elijah spoke [G2980][G1473]. And [G2532] reigned Jehoram the [G3588] brother of Ahaziah] instead of him [G1473], (for [G3754] no [G3756] there was son to him [G1473][G5207]) in [G1722] the [G3588] year [G2094] the [G3588] second [G1208] of Jehoram son [G5207] of Jehoshaphat king of Judah.
18: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of the [G3588] words [G3056] of Ahaziah, as many [things] as [G3745] he did [G4160], look [are] not [G3756][G2400] these [G3778] written [G1125] in [G1909] scroll of words [G3056] of the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] kings of Israel?
